1. Design options
Do I need an IKEA design for my offer request?
That would be easiest. Usually we only supply fronts that fit the IKEA Metod kitchens, because we know the exact dimensions. However, if you only need a few parts, you can simply share the dimensions with us in writing.
I’m having issues using the IKEA kitchen planner, what do I do?
It is best to make an appointment with an IKEA employee, who will help you complete the kitchen planner. This is a service provided by IKEA.
Can I order your fronts for a kitchen that is not from IKEA?
This is possible. We would need the exact measurements, which would fall under your responsibility. You can send us your own drawing with all dimensions on it. Please be aware that you will have to mill the drilling and hinge holes yourself.
Can I order a sample?
Of course! We have samples of all types of wood, in all colours and finishes. You can easily order kitchen front samples in our webshop.
Can I visit your showroom HouseCuisine?
You are welcome to visit our showroom in Ankeveen by appointment. This is possible from Monday to Saturday. You can schedule an appointment directly in our calendar.
Do you also design kitchens?
No, we do not design kitchens for our customers. We assume that you do this yourself, for example with the IKEA Kitchen Planner, or have it done. What is your delivery time?
This is usually 7-8 weeks after the deposit has been paid.
What are your payment terms?
We require a 40% deposit prior to production and the remaining 60% is to be paid just before delivery.
When will my order be put into production?
When the first deposit is paid. This amounts to 40% of the total order value.
Do you have a minimum order value?
No, but shipping costs are for your own account up to an order amount of €1,800.
Are there charges for transport?
From an order value of at least €1,800 the shipping costs are free.
Do you also deliver abroad?
Yes. However, this does not fall under our standard shipping service. The shipping costs will be found in the non-binding quote that you can request here.
Can I cancel my order or return products?
Our products are custom made and are always unique. The order can therefore no longer be cancelled from the moment the first deposit has been paid. If you want to be completely sure of your order, we recommend that you order samples of our wood types.
Who is responsible for the correct measurements and quantities in my order?
We are responsible for sizing each part to perfectly fit the IKEA Metod line. You are responsible for providing the right IKEA design. This means that design errors cannot be attributed to us. In addition, we recommend that you carefully check the order list for quantities before you agree to start production. For any custom order, the entire responsibility for dimensions and quantities lies with you.
Where are your fronts produced?
Partly in Croatia and partly in the Netherlands.
Are your fronts pre-drilled?
Yes. Our standard products are pre-drilled according to the exact dimensions of the IKEA Metod line.
Are hinges included with your fronts?
No, we do not supply hinges. You can order these at IKEA. Our fronts contain the exact drill holes to match the IKEA hinges.
How do you prevent the solid wooden fronts from warping?
Steel strips are visibly incorporated at the back of the solid wood fronts. These are milled in, and prevent the fronts from warping.
Can I also order the fronts without a handle profile?
Yes, of course. If you want to be able to mount a handle on the front, we can leave out the handle profile. Please indicate this clearly in the quotation request.
Will you also install the fronts?
No, that’s up to you. Our fronts fit exactly on the IKEA kitchens of the Metod line, and are easy to assemble yourself.
How do I mount the fronts?
Our fronts have the same drill holes as IKEA fronts, so anyone can easily install them (the doors click into the hinges on the cabinets; all you need is a screwdriver). Be careful during assembly, because the fronts are vulnerable to damage at that time (putting it down, sliding, corners hitting something, etc.). Please be aware that our warranty does not cover damage attributable to incorrect assembly.
4. Maintenance and warranty
What is the warranty on HoutCuisine fronts?
We give a 2 year warranty on all our supplied fronts. The warranty applies to warping and manufacturing defects, but not, for example, to normal wear and tear, incorrect maintenance or incorrect assembly. Read more about this in the warranty conditions on our website.
If I don’t order IKEA fronts, will I lose the warranty on my IKEA kitchen?
No, you do not lose the warranty on your IKEA kitchen. The parts of the IKEA kitchens are sold individually. Each part has a 25 year warranty. Combining IKEA products with products from other brands does not affect that warranty.
